Helping others in your group with their MyGiftster wish lists
So your mom won’t set up her wish list on MyGiftster. Don’t worry — neither will mine! So instead, I made her gift list registry for her, and she uses it just as much as she would if she had made her list on her own.
Using MyGiftster to Organize Your Charitable Holiday Party
During the holiday season, many families have gatherings that center more on giving to others than giving and receiving gifts themselves. MyGiftster can be used to organize the items you’ll be collecting so others know exactly what to bring to the party.
Kids Using MyGiftster to Make Their Wishlists
MyGiftster is easy for everyone to use no matter what age or computer knowledge. If you have little ones like I do, make sure to include a list for them in your MyGiftster account.
Unconventional Baby Shower Gift Registry Ideas
It’s so exciting registering for items in anticipation for your new little one! I can remember when my husband and I went to the store and we walked through the store scanning the items we thought we needed most. I can still hear my husband in my head as he said, “do we really need that?” Of course, I thought we needed everything. Four and a half years later, some of that stuff is still in boxes!
While some of the stuff we had on our registry can now be located on eBay, there are a number of other items we’ve used over and over again that I wish someone would have told me to put on my baby wish list. So I’m doing you the favor I wish someone had done for me. Here are the 6 things I wish I had put on my registry that I use all the time.
The gift to give for the person who has everything
I’m sure you have at least one of those people in your family who has just about everything they need and just about all the things they want. It can make holiday and birthday gift giving stressful. ATTENTION ALL GIFT GIVERS – This doesn’t need to be a stressful experience.
Why not make a donation in the person’s name to their favorite charity?
As the gift recipient, you can let your gift givers know what charities you like to support so they know where to spend their gift monies.
Can I just buy a gift card?
There are two schools of thought about giving gift cards:
1) It’s simple, easy, quick, and won’t take me a lot of time to buy.
2) There’s not much thought that needs to go into giving a gift card.
You can still make your thought count with giving a gift card, but it’s important to give the right gift card.
Use MyGiftster to keep within your gift giving budget
These days, everyone is doing what they can to save money. The last thing you want to do is spend your hard earned money on a gift that’s going to end up in someone’s garage sale, eBay, or, worse yet, the garbage. You can utilize MyGiftster to spend your money more effectively on a great gift that the recipient will use instead of making it the next piece of garage sale inventory.
An important thing for list creators to remember is to add the cost of the item to your list. This is a great reference tool for shoppers who have set aside a certain amount of money for gift giving. Shoppers can then easily review a person’s gift list to see which ideas fit into their budget.
One of the greatest tools to use with this is the shopping list feature. You can create a shipping list of the items you’d like to purchase. This way, you can check to make sure the gifts stay within your budget. All you need to do is print the list and you’r eready to begin shopping without the worry of over spending.
When I’m planning my Christmas shopping list, I usually keep a per person budget in mind. When I make my MyGiftster shopping list, I can find gifts for my family that stays within that budget.
Occasionally, I’ll find an item that is under my budget amount for that person. Other times, I may choose an item that is a dollar or two over the budget amount. When I use the shopping list, I’m able to see where I can spend more or less. I get excited when my shopping list total is less than my budget!
The best part of shopping this way is knowing I’m spending my pennies in the best way possible on a gift that will be used and appreciated by teh recipient. It’s no fun shopping when you know you may regret how much you’ve spent.
Include your favorite things on your gift list
I can’t help but have Julie Andrews singing in my head when I think of making a list of my favorite things. While whiskers on kittens and warm woolen mittens aren’t on my list, I would gladly accept a brown paper package of some of my favorite things for a gift. That’s why I have a list in my MyGiftster account that is dedicated to the things I like best.
